Joey at soft release site

There are a whole range of things you can do to help wildlife!

Here are some suggestions:

  • Donations of money or items to the wildlife shelter are greatly appreciated. We can usually use old t-shirts and jumpers (to be made into joey pouches), old towels, and unwanted cages etc. Donations can be sent to our postal address at PO Box 395 KELMSCOTT WA 6991 or you can donate money online:

  • Become a volunteer! Come and help feed and look after the animals. No experience is needed, as we will train you. You can do as little as a few hours a month, as or much as you like! For more info email our volunteer co-ordinator: volunteers@darlingrangewildlife.com.au

  • There are many other ways you can help other than directly working with the animals, for example general admin work, collecting and dropping off food donations, erecting and maintaining buildings and enclosures, tree planting, sewing joey bags, to name a few. If you have a skill you think we could use please don't hesitate to contact us!

  • Plant local native plants on your property or help out local 'friends of' on planting days. Check out information on the Wildflower Society of WA website. Plant sales are also regularly held by the Friends of Kings Park.

  • If you have to deal with a rat problem, please consider these tips to minimise harm to native wildlife Society for the Preservation of Raptors Fact Sheet.
